The Podere Santa Croce farmhouse hotel is ideal for those visiting Saturnia and the Terme di Saturnia spa.
Saturnia is located directly above a huge travertine boulder in an area inhabited since at least the twelfth century BC, i.e. since the Late Villanova period.
The town walls and the Puntone necropolis both date to this period.
Believe it or not, this is the location of what many believe was the first city of the Italic civilisation. Located on the Via Clodia, Saturnia was also a Roman town and even today, some parts of the protective walls, as well as the beautiful Porta Romana, date to that period.
