Sovana is a small town, but so rich in history from the Etruscans to the Middle Ages, as to boast the title of "Queen of the Maremma".

The town contains both spiritual and temporal symbols of power: the Cathedral and the Rocca Aldobrandeschi fortress.

Sovana is also known for its necropolis. It is situated along the road that leads from Sovana to San Martino sul Fiora. You can admire a wide variety of tombs that display the beauty of Etruscan architecture.
